1 Year Football Strength and Conditioning Program – Skills Positions
This program is designed for a football player in the Skills Positions (WR, CB, RB, TB, PR, etc.). This periodized program covers all the physical demands of the game of football: Strength, power, agility, speed, explosiveness, endurance, and skill. It incorporates an alternating 2-week cycle for each season. The off-season the player will concentrate on base strength and conditioning and as progress toward greater speed and power as the season nears. During the season the player goes into more of a maintain phase. The focus during the season is being able to compete in practice and games without the added over stress on the body from weight training. The basic power athletes exercises are in the program such as bench press, cleans, snatch, and squats. Plyometric is a major part throughout the whole year to develop speed and agility that transfer over to the field. The player will conduct skills training and practice with his coach.
